Using Advanced Preview

Advanced Preview allows you to see how your ad creative will render across different Meta placements. This helps ensure that the ad appears correctly before sharing it with others or reviewing campaign performance.

Steps to access Advanced Preview

Navigate to Marketing > Ad Manager in your sub - account.
Open the Meta campaign you want to review.
Go to the Ad Set and select the Ad you want to preview.
Locate the Preview panel on the right side of the campaign builder.
Click the Advanced Preview icon in the preview panel.

Scroll through the placements within the preview to verify how your ad creative appears across the Meta ecosystem.

Placement rendering in Preview

The Advanced Preview attempts to display the ad in all placements configured for the campaign. However, some placements may not support certain creative formats.
If a placement does not support the uploaded creative format, the preview will display the error message returned by Meta explaining why the ad cannot render in that placement. This helps identify compatibility issues without needing to navigate to Meta Ads Manager.
Ad Manager allows you to generate a shareable preview link that opens the ad inside Meta’s preview environment. This link can be shared with team members or stakeholders to view the ad rendering.

  • The shareable preview link is available only for published campaigns.
The link option will not appear for ads that are in Draft or Paused status.

  1. Open the published Meta campaign inside Ad Manager.

  2. Navigate to the Ad level.

  3. Locate the Preview panel.

  4. Click the link icon located next to the Advanced Preview button.

  5. The preview link will be automatically copied to your clipboard.

Viewing the shared preview

Opening the shareable preview link loads the Meta-hosted ad preview interface, preferably in a new browser tab. The preview displays the ad creative and allows viewers to see how the ad appears across the configured placements.

This preview represents how the ad would appear to users on Meta surfaces.

Access permissions

  • Access to the preview follows Meta’s ad account permission model. Only users with appropriate access to the associated ad account will be able to view the preview experience.
  • This ensures that the ad preview remains accessible only to authorised users while still allowing teams to review ads easily through the shareable link.
