# **Overview of Global Settings in Services**

Global Settings allow you to configure essential settings that will be applied across all services. These are divided into five main sections:

1. **In-App Settings:** Configure options related to your in-app platform.
2. **Booking Page:** Manage settings for your customer-facing booking widget.
3. **Payment Settings:** Configure payment modes, set up currencies, and manage all payment related options.
4. **Service Settings:** Control options for service bookings and appointments.
5. **Additional Settings:** Miscellaneous settings for added functionality.
6. **Notification Settings:** Customize how and when customers and staff are notified about bookings.

---

## **Key Benefits of Global Settings**

These benefits summarize how centralized configuration supports a consistent, streamlined booking experience across all services.

- **Centralized Control:** Apply booking, payment, scheduling, and notification rules from one place.

- **Consistent Customer Experience:** Keep the booking page layout, labels, and choices uniform across services.

- **Faster Updates:** Change global behaviors (like staff selection or payment visibility) without editing each service.

- **Smoother Scaling:** As offerings grow, you can add services that use existing resources without reinventing your scheduling approach.

## **In-App Settings**

- **View Options:** Choose which day the calendar view should start on: Monday, Saturday, or Sunday.
- **Enable Multiple Locations:** Enable this if your business operates in multiple locations. This will allow you to create and display more than one location on your booking page, so customers can choose where to book.
- **Enable Resources:** If your business uses resources like rooms, spaces, or tools, toggle this on to manage and track them. It will prevent double bookings and help ensure the correct resources are reserved for services. Enabling this will add a "Resources" tab where you can configure these settings.
- **Enable Add-ons:** Toggle this on if your business offers add-ons or extras when booking a service. This can help upsell additional services. Enabling this will add an "Add-ons" tab for configuration.

## **Service Settings**

- **Service Interval:** Determines how often time slots are available for booking. For example: If the interval is set to 1 hour, available slots will be shown every hour (e.g., 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM). If the interval is set to 30 minutes, available slots will appear every 30 minutes (e.g., 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:00 AM). This allows the booking slots to be spaced out based on the chosen interval.
- **Minimum Scheduling Notice:** The minimum time required after which an appointment cannot be booked. For example, if the notice is set to 2 hours, a 10 AM slot cannot be booked after 8 AM on the same day.
- **Booking Window:** Control how far into the future customers can view availability and book your services. Choose between two booking window types:

    - **Range based:** Shows availability for a rolling number of days from today. As time passes, new days automatically become available for booking. For example, setting the range to 30 days means customers can always book up to 30 days from the current date.

        - **Count available days only** — Toggle this on to count only the days your services are staffed and available when calculating the booking window. When enabled, the system skips days outside your staff availability schedule and starts counting from the first available day after your minimum scheduling notice period ends. Bookers always see the full number of days you have configured — not a blank calendar on days you are closed.
When the toggle is off, the booking window counts every calendar day including days with no availability. This is the default behavior.
Example — Count available days only with notice
            - Today: Wednesday, 12 Aug
            - Minimum Scheduling Notice: 2 days
            - Availability: Monday–Friday
            - Booking Window: 5 days (Range based)
            - Toggle: On
The system applies the notice period first, then counts 5 available days from the first available day after notice ends:
                Booking widget shows: 14, 15, 18, 19, 20 Aug — all 5 available days visible.

    - **Date-based:** Lets you define a specific date range up to which customers can book. Unlike a rolling range, the start and end date remains fixed.
- **Service Booking Title:** Customize the title used for appointments created through your Services booking page. You can use custom values, such as {{contact.name}}, to dynamically personalize the booking title with customer information.
- **Cancellation & Reschedule:**
    - **Allow Cancellation:** When enabled, you can set an expiration time to your cancellation link. This link will expire at the set time before the appointment, preventing last-minute cancellations.
    - **Allow Rescheduling:** Similar to cancellation, enabling this lets you set an expiration time to the rescheduling link. It will expire as configured before the appointment time.
    - **Auto Confirm New Appointments:** New bookings will automatically be marked as confirmed by default. If disabled, appointments will be unconfirmed, allowing manual review before confirmation.

## **Service Booking Title for Mobile Appointments**

The Service booking title setting controls how new service appointment titles are pre-filled, helping teams keep appointment naming consistent across booking channels. Using one shared title template reduces manual editing and keeps web and mobile bookings aligned.

When a Service booking title is configured in Services Global Settings, new service bookings created in the mobile app use that title automatically in the **Appointment Title** field.

If the Service booking title is empty or not configured, the mobile app falls back to **<Contact Name>** so existing booking behavior continues without interruption.

This setting applies to **new service bookings** created in the mobile app.

## **Additional Settings**

- **Contact Assignment:**
    - **Assign contacts to service staff members upon booking:** When enabled, this updates the contact's assigned user to the staff member handling their appointment. For example, if Contact A's assigned user is User A, but Contact A books an appointment with User B, the contact's assigned user will switch to User B.
    - **Skip assignment if the contact already has an assigned user:** If enabled, this setting prevents reassignment of a contact who already has an assigned user. It will only update contacts that currently have no assigned user to the appointment's owner.
- **Facebook Pixel ID:** Enter your Facebook Pixel ID here to track events triggered through the booking process.
- **Lock timezone on the booking page:** This option locks the displayed timezone on the booking page, preventing users from changing it. It’s particularly useful for in-person services, ensuring slots are shown in your set timezone regardless of the booker’s location.

## **Notifications**

Notifications keep both your team and your customers updated about appointment activity. You can configure different types of notifications, decide who receives them, and customize their content to fit your needs.

#### **Notification Types**

There are six main notification types available:

1. **Appointment Booked** (Unconfirmed Status): Sent immediately when an appointment is booked with the Unconfirmed status.
2. **Appointment Booked (Confirmed Status):** Sent immediately when an appointment is booked with the _Confirmed_ status or when an existing appointment is updated to _Confirmed_.

3. **Cancellation Email:** Sent when an appointment is canceled, marked as a no-show, or deemed invalid.

4. **Reschedule Email:** Sent when the appointment date or time is changed.

5. **Reminder Email:** Sent before the appointment at the time you specify (e.g., 1 day or 1 hour before).

6. **Follow-Up Email:** Sent after the appointment based on your configured timing (e.g., immediately after, or 1 day later).

#### **Delivery Channels**

Notifications can be delivered via:

- **Email** — sent to contacts and assigned users.

- **In-App** — alerts shown within the web and mobile app for assigned users.

- **SMS -** sent to contacts and assigned users

- **WhatsApp** — send booking notifications and updates to customers through WhatsApp.

Note: WhatsApp notifications currently support booking-level custom values, but not individual service-level custom values. For example, if a customer books three services in a single booking, you can dynamically include information for the overall booking, but you cannot currently reference dynamic values for each individual service within the WhatsApp notification.

## **Third-Party Calendar Settings**

Third-party calendar settings let you control how your service appointments integrate with external calendars such as Google, Outlook or iCloud. These settings help ensure that attendees receive accurate invitations and updates directly in their calendars.

- **Calendar Sync & Invites:** Allow Google or Outlook to automatically add appointments to attendees’ calendars. Invitations and update emails are sent whenever an appointment is booked, rescheduled, or canceled.

- **Appointment Notes:** Add custom notes that will appear directly in the third-party calendar invite (e.g., meeting links, instructions, or preparation details).

**Tip:** Use Appointment Notes to include key details your attendees should see at a glance in their calendar events.

## **Frequently Asked Questions**

**Q: What’s the advantage of using Global Settings instead of editing each service?**

Global Settings applies defaults across all services, so you can update booking, payment, and scheduling behavior from one place.

**Q: When should I use Global Settings versus editing an individual service?**

Use Global Settings for defaults you want across services (booking page behavior, payments, notifications, scheduling windows). Edit a specific service for its own details like price/duration, variations, assigned staff/resources, or add‑ons.

****Q: Do direct links for specific services or staff reflect changes made in Global Settings?****

Yes. Service, staff, and category share links are filtered views of the same booking experience, so updates to Global Settings (layout, forms, payments, notifications) apply automatically.

**Q: How can I preview how the booking page looks after updating Global Settings?**

Use the booking page preview for the service to verify before sharing links. Previewing lets you confirm that global changes render as expected on the public booking page.

Q: Does "Count available days only" work with Date-based booking windows?

No. The toggle only applies to Range based booking windows. When Date-based is selected, the start and end dates are fixed and the toggle has no effect.
